A study by the European Union showed that five out of four influencers don’t bother to disclose sponsorships though required by EU law. The screening was conducted on posts on platforms like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Twitch. The study concluded that out of the 576 influencers only 20% indicated the advertisements. The study also found that about a fifth of the influencers promoted activities like crypto trading, alcoholic beverages and gambling to name a few.
